Uniting families for eternity

Principle 4

Uniting families for eternity includes:

  • Making covenants as we receive our own temple ordinances.
  • Discovering our deceased ancestors and performing ordinances for them in the temple so they can make covenants with God.
  • Going to the temple regularly, where possible, to worship God and perform ordinances for His children.

Jesus Christ established His Church to enable individuals and families to do the work of salvation and exaltation. President Nelson has encouraged the Rising Generation to engage in the work of salvation and exaltation.

The Rising Generation are part of a family. They can help gather Israel on both sides of the veil by finding names of ancestors and doing the ordinance work for their own family. They can also devote their ‘church service’ to helping individuals and families receive the essential ordinances and take the next steps on the covenant path.

Rising Generation participate in family history, and help others do the same. They can play an important role in their local ward and community.
